Snow Emergency Policy

The following is the Marion Family YMCA’s policies and procedures for snow emergencies to provide consistent and fair closing practices which benefit staff and members during severe weather situations.

The following is the Marion Family YMCA’s policies and procedures for snow emergencies:.

1. If a Level 1 Snow Emergency is indicated by the Marion County Sheriff the Marion Family YMCA will remain operational. No closings or delays will be initiated.
2. If a Level 2 Snow Emergency is indicated by the Marion County Sheriff, the Marion Family YMCA will cancel all programming and will close the facility in 1 hour. The Marion Family YMCA will not open if there is a level 2 snow emergency declared in Marion County prior to opening. 24/7 access will still be available for members to use the wellness center.
3. If a Level 3 Snow Emergency is indicated by the Marion County Sheriff, the Marion Family YMCA will cancel all programming and will close the facility in 1 hour. The Marion Family YMCA will not open if there is a level 3 snow emergency declared in Marion County prior to opening. 24/7 access will not be available for members to use the wellness center while under a level 3 snow emergency.
